Meta is expanding its AI-powered smart glasses lineup with the all-new Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles. Introduced on Tuesday, these have been developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica and are the optical-first styles designed for prescription wearers and all-day comfort.

This gives a significant push to the two brands' multi-year collaboration after the introduction of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Oakley Meta Glasses as well as the Meta Ray-Ban Display models earlier.

Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles: Key Features

Touted as the "most comfortable glasses" they have ever designed, these are aimed at supporting all-day wear, even if you don't need a prescription. The frames have a slimmer design, interchangeable nose-pads, overextension hinges having additional 10-degree rotation, and adjustable temple tips to offer a more personalised fit, the company said in a blog post.

These are being offered in two frames - “Blayzer Optics,” a rectangular design available in Standard and Large sizes, as well as a more rounded “Scriber Optics” frame. Both support a wide range of lenses, such as single-vision, progressive, and Transitions lenses. This means users will be able to switch between indoor and outdoor environments without changing frames, Meta said.

In terms of performance, Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles retain core smart features that were seen in earlier models. These are equipped with a 12-megapixel camera to capture photos and record videos in 3K resolution. Also, customers get a six-microphone system for improved audio recording and clearer calls.

Further, you can listen to music and podcasts through platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music, besides taking calls, sending messages, and interacting with Meta AI using voice commands. Also, there is a dedicated action button that provides users access to Meta AI. It even enables them to capture content or trigger shortcuts instantly. Further, the AI assistant will respond to queries and assist users on various tasks based on what they see.
