- Claude AI is currently not working as intended due to login/logout path issues on Claude.ai

Claude AI, Anthropic's flagship large language model AI product confirmed that it is "not working as intended" on its official website. Anthropic reported that the main issue seems to be linked to Claude's login/logout paths.
"We have identified that the Claude API is working as intended. The issues we are seeing are related to Claude.ai and with the login/logout paths," Anthropic said in a report dated 12:21 UTC, (5:51 p.m. Indian Standard Time).
The company has been investigating the outage since 11:49 UTC (5:19 p.m. IST).
Downdetector also indicated the same with a peak of 924 users reporting that Claude AI was facing an outage at 5:11 p.m. Cladue's chat feature was noted as the most reported issue with 73% of users pointing out problems with it. Upto 14% of users faced issues with the app and 13% of them stated that they were having difficulties with Claude Code.
By 6:11 p.m. the total reports on its outage had dwindled to 296.

Claude which is noted for it's applications within the white collar and IT industry also seems to be used by military operations with the most recent example being the use of the LLM in US operations in Iran on Feb. 28.
Users on Reddit reported that the frequent outages in Claude in late February 2026 were suspicious.
"Really sus (suspicious) that they had such major outages this last week," the user wrote.
This is a reference to an outage the Claude suffered in Feb. 28, 2026 with Anthropic detecting and resolving problems related to Claude Opus 4.6, its latest generation LLM.
Other users also theorised as to whether the outage was related to the recent conflict between the forces of Iran and those of US and Israel. With reports of an Amazon Web Services unit in the UAE being hit and catching on fire. Claude uses AWS services for many of its functions but it is as of yet unconfirmed as to whether this was the reason for the outage.
Applications like Claude and Claude Gov its custom government versions have been used by the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) as per reports. These models process large swathes of data including intercepts, satellite imagery, and signals intelligence to produce summaries, threat assessments, and real-time situational awareness.
Claude was also reported to have been used in the U.S. raid to capture former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as well.
