Sarvam, an AI startup hailing from India, has recently been garnering attention. The company has achieved significant milestones in the field of AI, including the creation of two Large Language Models (LLMs) entirely from the ground up. The company has discreetly launched its AI chat application, Indus, across various app stores.
Features of Indus AI
According to the app description, the Indus application may also incorporate AI assistants, enabling users to automate tasks with Sarvam's intelligent agents. The company further suggests that users might be able to compose and modify documents directly within the app.
Additional functionalities involve the ability to upload images, PDFs, and similar files. The AI can then process the information and respond to questions based on the provided document.
The Indian AI startup hasn't clearly disclosed the AI architecture powering the Indus app. Nevertheless, the firm unveiled two LLMs, Sarvam-30B and Sarvam-105B, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. These models serve as foundational frameworks, created wholly within India. There's a possibility that the Indus app operates on these frameworks.
Sarvam Indus is different than ChatGPT
Indus serves as Sarvam's AI assistant. The application listing highlights that this AI assistant is specifically designed for Indian users and developed fully within India. According to the company, users will have the capability to engage with the AI chatbot in every Indian language. This also includes the feature to change languages mid-conversation, allowing transitions from English to Hindi and back again.
Much like other popular chatbots including ChatGPT and Gemini, Sarvam's Indus will feature voice command capabilities as well. This AI will respond to your inquiries by exploring the internet.
Where can you download Sarvam Indus AI app?
The Indus application is presently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Additionally, the Indus website is operational online. However, access might still be limited for some users.
