WWE WrestleMania 42's second night unfolded as a story of endings, marked by symbolic gestures and title changes. The show began with Brock Lesnar appearing to bid farewell after a defeat to Oba Femi, placing his boots and gloves at the centre of the ring. Later, in the headline bout, Roman Reigns brought CM Punk's championship run to an abrupt halt.
The upheaval did not end there, as two more champions saw their reigns come to an end. In contrast, Penta kept his Intercontinental Championship intact following a fiercely contested ladder bout.
The headline act of WrestleMania 42 belonged to the brutal showdown between Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Both men endured immense punishment, with Punk left bloodied and Reigns repeatedly pushed to the brink. In the end, exhaustion proved decisive as Punk faltered, allowing Reigns to deliver a decisive spear and reclaim his place at the summit.

Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar
A surge of excitement filled the arena as the opening bout began. After a short exchange, Brock Lesnar looked to assert dominance by driving Oba Femi into the corner, but met unexpected resistance. Caught off guard, Lesnar was unable to bring his opponent down before Femi turned the tables and forced him to retreat outside to recover.
Beyond the ropes, Brock Lesnar seized control, driving Oba Femi into the ring post and steel steps. Back inside, Lesnar launched into offence with the first of several German suplexes, eventually delivering three in succession. Femi responded with a flurry of running uppercuts, only to be caught and dropped with an F5. Remarkably, he regained his footing before a cover could be attempted, then turned the tide with a chokeslam followed by Fall From Grace to secure a swift win.
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
The bout was expected to explode into life, but the tempo dipped as Rusev introduced ladders into the fray, even bridging one between the ring and the commentary table. Je'Von Evans ignited the contest with a spectacular dive from the ring onto JD McDonagh at ringside. Rusev continued to use the ladders to dominate proceedings until Penta sent him crashing down from the top.
Rey Mysterio came within touching distance of the title before Dragon Lee intervened, halting his momentum with a Styles Clash. Lee's advantage was fleeting as JD McDonagh struck with a Spanish Fly from the ladder. Penta then produced a stunning Mexican Destroyer on McDonagh, driving him from one ladder onto another bridged against the turnbuckle.
Rusev was next to fall victim, as Je'Von Evans soared in with an OG Cutter while he stood atop a ladder. Penta soon turned his attention to Evans, landing another Mexican Destroyer before climbing up to claim the championship. While ladder matches can often follow a familiar pattern, this one stood out as a thrilling spectacle, with all six competitors delivering standout moments and the outcome uncertain until the end.
United States Championship Match
Trick Williams made a fast start, landing an early kick before turning Sami Zayn's Blue Thunder Bomb attempt into a neckbreaker. Zayn answered in kind moments later, hitting the move cleanly to swing momentum in his favour. The action spilt to the ringside, where Zayn targeted Lil Yachty.
Back in the ring, he planted Williams on the apron with a brainbuster and set up for the Helluva Kick, only to be pulled onto the ropes by Lil Yachty. Williams nearly seized the moment, but Zayn recovered with an exploder suplex into the corner. Charging once more, Zayn ran straight into a Trick Shot, handing Williams the victory.
Street Fight
Finn Bálor wasted no time asserting himself, taking advantage of the bout's late designation as a street fight by bringing a kendo stick into play. As he reached beneath the ring for a table, Rey Mysterio launched a suicide dive and followed up with repeated kendo stick strikes. Mysterio later introduced steel chairs, only to be halted by a sling blade from Bálor.
Momentum swung again when Bálor crashed through a table set in the corner. Mysterio capitalised, wrapping a chair around his opponent's head before connecting with a 619 and frog splash, though it yielded only a near fall. Bálor responded with a barrage of chair shots before trapping Mysterio's head and delivering a shotgun dropkick. The contest ended when Bálor placed Mysterio on a table and executed a Coup de Grace for the victory.
WWE Women's Championship Match
It was Jade Cargill who dictated the early exchanges, overpowering Rhea Ripley with a shoulder charge and bodyslam. Ripley quickly retaliated, landing a face-first slam and dropkick, but Cargill regained the initiative with a powerslam and sustained offence in the corner. Taking the fight outside, she hurled Ripley into the barricade before returning to the ring for a near fall via Blue Thunder Bomb and a subsequent crossface. Ripley broke free, answering with strikes on the mat.
Cargill halted a Riptide attempt with a hip toss and delivered a spinebuster for two. Her attempt at Jaded was countered, and the contest descended into disorder as Michin and B-Fab became involved. Iyo Sky intervened to even the odds, allowing Ripley to regain focus. After a sequence of reversals, Ripley struck with a match-winning Riptide.
Danhausen, John Cena and some “minihausens” took down The Miz and Kit Wilson
The atmosphere shifted when John Cena, hosting duties in hand, was interrupted shortly after announcing the attendance figures. The Miz, accompanied by Kit Wilson, insisted he deserved his own standout WrestleMania moment.
Their interruption was met by the arrival of Danhausen alongside several lookalikes. What began as a light-hearted exchange quickly descended into chaos after Wilson provoked one of them, leading to a flurry of retaliation. Danhausen joined in, striking The Miz and performing a five-knuckle shuffle before making a theatrical exit beneath the ring, much to Cena's amusement.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
The contest began with CM Punk and Roman Reigns staring each other down and trading words before locking up. Punk opened with chain wrestling, taunting as he maintained a side headlock. Reigns powered out and knocked him down with a shoulder charge, but Punk quickly regained control with another headlock and a strike of his own. Reigns soon asserted dominance with a Samoan drop, and when Punk attempted to match him blow for blow, he paid the price, being knocked over the top rope with a clothesline.
Both Roman Reigns and CM Punk showcased their versatility, attempting each other's signature offence. Reigns failed with a GTS, while Punk connected with a Superman Punch. A spear attempt from Punk was countered into a guillotine, sparking a sequence of submissions that saw Punk apply the Anaconda Vice and later escape further holds. One exchange ended with Punk converting a guillotine into a near fall.
Seeking an advantage, Punk distracted the referee and struck with a low blow before delivering a GTS, yet Reigns survived. Punk then put Reigns through the commentary desk with a top-rope elbow and followed with another GTS in the ring. His inability to capitalise proved costly, as Reigns responded with a spear and then a second to finally keep Punk down.
