Day 4 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 brought some early clarity to the table as New Zealand and Pakistan became the first teams to record back-to-back wins in the tournament, while Netherlands opened their account with a convincing victory in Delhi.

The opening game of the day saw two Associate Member nations go head-to-head as Netherlands took on Namibia in the capital. The Dutch side, riding on the back of a Bas de Leede masterclass (72* & 2/20), registered a comfortable 7-wicket victory to register their first points of the tournament.

The focus then shifted to Chennai as UAE entered the fray, going up against New Zealand at the Chepauk stadium. UAE captain Muhammad Waseem (66*) along with Alishan Sharafu (55) offered stiff resistance to help their team post a respectable total of 173/6. However, Kiwi openers Tim Seifert (89*) and Finn Allen (84*) made light of that target as they stitched together a record T20I World Cup partnership to make it back-to-back victories for New Zealand.

The final game of the day saw USA travel to Colombo to take on Pakistan. Opener Sahibzada Farhan (73 off 41 balls) took charge right from the off before Shadab Khan (30 off 12 balls) provided some late fireworks for the the Men in Green as they posted dominant total of 190/9. In response, USA could only manage 158/8, falling short by 32 runs as they continue to search for their first points of the tournament.
