Arjun Tendulkar have had a stop start career in the Indian Premier League. The junior Tendulkar has played only five games, all for Mumbai Indians, across the 2023 and the 2024 IPL seasons. Now the left-arm pacer is aiming for some game time with his new franchise, Lucknow Super Giants. His story has been similar in domestic cricket as he left his native team Mumbai and joined Goa to play more matches.

Ahead of the start of the 2026 season of the IPL, the 26-year-old appeared in the Shubhankar Mishra Podcast, where he opened up about his career in cricket. When asked about his stint with Goa, Arjun candidly admitted: "I still haven't come out of my comfort zone. I am enjoying my time in Goa."

While opportunities have come his way due to his iconic surname, Arjun also faces the pressure and scrutiny that accompany being the son of cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar. The expectations are daunting and the weight of comparison is constant in a country where cricket rules the masses.

According to report in The Indian Express, Arjun even faced light-hearted banter from a teammate back in 2016 during a Kanga League match. After he was bowled out and sat down with teammates, tea was being handed around. When Arjun declined a cup, a teammate teased him saying: "Haan haan, tu toh Boost hi piyega na? (Yes, yes, You will drink Boost only, right?)"

The taunt referred to the early 90s when Sachin Tendulkar used to feature in Boost's iconic advertisement. Boost at that time was a famous mild additive.

In the podcast  Arjun was also asked if he feels burdened by expectations attached to his father's legacy. He responded with composure, stressing that he prioritizes passion over pressure. “I play cricket out of passion, not to prove anything to anyone. I just focus on working hard and enjoying my game.”
