RPG Life Sciences Ltd. on Monday reported a surge of 786% in net profit to Rs 117.35 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-24.

The pharmaceutical company's profit for the similar period in the previous fiscal stood at only Rs 13.24 crore, according to the company's exchange filing.

Revenue from operations for the quarter under review expanded by 13% to Rs 143.09 crore, against Rs 126.99 crore that the company had posted in the Q4 FY24.

The Ebitda was up about 115% at Rs 30.55 crore versus Rs 14.23 crore. The Ebitda margin was at about 21% versus about 11%.

RPG Life Sciences posted exceptionally high profits during the quarter due to a one-time gain of Rs 109.90 crore.

The company attributed this to “assignment of surplus vacant leasehold land" with built-up structures situated at MIDC in Navi Mumbai.

While it made an exceptional gain of Rs 126.23 crore in the transaction, it also incurred a loss of Rs 16.33 crore on account of a fire during the period.

Final Dividend And Special Dividend

When approving the financial results, the company's board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 20 per share. This dividend is 250% of the share's face value of Rs 8.

Additionally, it has also cleared a special dividend of Rs 4 per equity share. This the company said was "on account of significant exceptional profit on assignment of land for the financial year 2024-25".

However, the board clarified that the dividend payouts are subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting.

Shares of RPG Life Sciences closed 6.01% lower at Rs 2,108.80 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 1.27% advance in the benchmark Sensex. The company shared the information regarding the board approvals after the stock markets had closed on Monday.
