“The 8th Central Pay Commission solicits views/opinions/inputs for being better informed. These inputs are being sought in a structured manner through a questionnaire with 18 questions hosted on the MyGov.in the web portal. Responses are invited from ministries, departments, state/UTs, employees of the government, employees of Union Territories, judicial officers, officers/employees of courts, members of regulatory bodies, associations or unions of serving or retired employees, pensioners, researchers, academicians and individuals,” as per the Pay Commission's statement on its website.

The consultation has been opened to a wide range of respondents, spanning central government and Union Territory employees, judicial personnel, staff of regulatory bodies, employee associations, pensioners, academics and other interested stakeholders.

The questionnaire has been issued in English and Hindi to widen access for stakeholders, the 8th Pay Commission said. Authorities have clarified that feedback will be accepted solely via the MyGov platform.

Announced in January 2025, the 8th Pay Commission was formally constituted through a finance ministry notification dated Nov. 3, 2025. The government simultaneously approved its Terms of Reference and asked the commission to submit its recommendations on salaries, pensions and allowances within 18 months.

The panel has been provided with office premises in the capital and has now launched its official website.

The Commission's work is widely seen as pivotal for central government employees and pensioners, as it will shape future pay scales and retirement benefits.
