Narcotics Worth Over Rs 3,000 Crore Seized Till October
Between April and October of the current fiscal, 549 cases of narcotics seizure happened at airports, totalling 3,029 kg worth Rs 3,365 crore.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and Customs officials have seized 3,029 kg of narcotics valued at about Rs 3,365 crore between April and October this year, Parliament was informed on Monday. During the period, about 260 kg of gold valued at over Rs 254 crore was also seized in 461 cases.
In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary shared details of gold and narcotics seizure cases at airports and seaports by Customs field formations and the DRI from 2022-23 to 2025-26 (up to October 2025).
Between April and October of the current fiscal, 549 cases of narcotics seizure happened at airports, totalling 3,029 kg worth Rs 3,365 crore.
In FY25, 7,362 kg of narcotics worth Rs 2,405 crore were seized at airports and seaports. In FY24, 1,539 kg seizures happened worth Rs 8,247 crore.
With regard to gold seizures in FY25, the data showed that 2,772 cases were registered, wherein 1,848 kg of yellow metal worth Rs 1,286 crore was seized at airports.
In FY24, 3,714 kg of gold worth Rs 2,081 crore was seized.
The Customs field formations and DRI keep a constant vigil and take operational measures, besides coordinating with other agencies for thwarting gold and narcotics smuggling, Chaudhary said.
