Tesla today has produced over 80 lakh vehicles, avoided about 32 million tonne of CO2, said Tesla APAC chief Isabel Fan during the brand's first store launch in India.

"Tesla is like a mobile device with four-wheels. The car has over 250 features pushed through to the customer in 2024," she said.

Tesla continues to provide over-the-air software updates, she added.

Fan confirmed that this is the first experience center, with more to come. The experience center is designed to engage customers.

Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor Autocars India highlighted that Tesla is the rockstar in the EV space. "There is an unprecedented frenzy around Tesla, due to Elon Musk and the technology. But we have to see that if the sales really live up to the hype," he told NDTV Profit

Sorabjee noted that Model Y as a CBU, was expected for the Indian market.

Neeta Sharada, Chief Architect for Tesla's first showroom in Mumbai, shared her insights on the minimalist design.

"I have been fortunate to be part of Tesla's journey in India, starting with the first one in Mumbai. The showroom features a minimalist look with a white background, lightboxes displaying Tesla images, and some Indian elements. We completed the project in 45 days," she said.
