Cyclone Fengal, which made its landfall in Puducherry on Nov. 30, has now affected Mumbai weather after battering most of the southern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for several districts of Maharashtra due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal.

On the other hand, the minimum temperature in Mumbai, which recorded its coldest November night in 10 years at 16.5°C days ago marking the arrival of winter, has also increased.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature of Mumbai shot up to 24°C, rising by 7.5°C in just four days. According to weather experts, the change in Mumbai’s temperature can be attributed to Cyclone Fengal’s influence in the Arabian Sea.

The rise in temperature was accompanied by overcast skies in Mumbai all through Tuesday. The residents of the city also witnessed a thin layer of haze in many areas on Tuesday morning.
