Benchmark indices extended gains for the second straight session, helped by a rebound in IT stocks after a four-day decline. The NSE Nifty 50 rose 0.71% to 24,175.70, while the BSE Sensex gained 0.75% to 77,502.12. The Nifty was up 169.85 points and the Sensex advanced 579.48 points.

Meanwhile, oil prices extended their decline as traders assessed improving crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz and signs of progress in indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran. Brent crude for September traded near $71 a barrel after losing more than 3% over the previous two sessions, while West Texas Intermediate hovered around $68. Crude has remained under pressure after recording its steepest quarterly decline since 2020.

Elsewhere, Asian markets traded lower on Thursday, led by sharp losses in South Korea, as a renewed selloff in global technology shares dampened investor sentiment. South Korea's Kospi dropped 6.67%, while Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 2.23%. Australia's ASX 200 slipped 0.51%.

The declines followed another weak session on Wall Street, where investors continued to trim exposure to technology stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surrendered an intraday gain of more than 423 points to finish little changed, while the S&P 500 fell 0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite lost 0.7% as semiconductor shares remained under pressure.

  • The company said it was able to process about 1 lakh applications using AI. It has kept its cost-of-funds guidance at 10.5% and said net interest margin has exceeded expectations at 6.8%.
  • Paisalo Digital said its primary client base is MSMEs and retail customers. The company has expanded into four main categories and eight sub-segments, and aims to double revenue every three years.
  • The company said it is comfortable with 40-50% promoter holding and added that promoters are bullish on the three-year development roadmap.

Stock Market Live: India Private Credit Market Doubles To $25 Billion In Five Years

  • India’s private credit market has doubled in size over the past five years to about $25 billion in assets under management by the end of 2025, Moody’s Ratings said, PTI reported.
  • Annual transaction value rose to more than $11 billion in 2025, though the market remains small by global standards, Moody’s said.
  • The ratings agency said growth will accelerate as funding needs increase amid strong economic conditions. It added that new RBI norms allowing banks to fund acquisitions may increase competition in a segment historically dominated by alternative capital.
  • Moody’s said the new rules may benefit borrowers by lowering financing costs and improving availability, but could compress yields and reduce deal flows for private credit providers in acquisition financing, PTI reported.

Nirmal K Minda, ASSOCHAM President and CMD of Uno Minda, said Delhi’s EV policy is a good policy and was required to improve the environment.

Minda told NDTV Profit that challenges in the sector also create opportunities, and the industry will work with the government to address them. He said India is on the path towards its carbon-neutral goal by 2070.

On Uno Minda’s EV business, Minda said the company provides end-to-end EV powertrain solutions and has started manufacturing motors and chargers. The company is supplying to various electric two-wheeler companies and has recently set up a plant in Maharashtra to localise EV powertrain.

Minda said Uno Minda has started supplying to Tata Motors for the Punch EV and is working with the government on rationalisation of duty structure. He said the company was the first Indian firm to localise powertrain for four-wheelers and buses, and remains confident that EVs will grow.

Stock Market Live: FirstCry-Promoted Swara Baby Files Draft Papers For Rs 1,000-Crore IPO

Swara Baby Products, a FirstCry-backed contract manufacturer of baby diapers, adult diapers and feminine hygiene products, has filed draft papers with SEBI to raise Rs 1,000 crore through an initial public offering, PTI reported.

The IPO will comprise a fresh issue of shares worth up to Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 500 crore by promoters. The OFS includes shares worth up to Rs 300 crore by FirstCry parent Brainbees Solutions and up to Rs 200 crore by Anadya Bon Merchari LLP.

The company plans to use Rs 198.2 crore from the fresh issue to set up a manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, Rs 100 crore to repay or prepay loans, and Rs 27.5 crore to invest in subsidiaries for repayment of dues.

Swara Baby may also undertake a pre-IPO placement of up to Rs 100 crore, PTI reported.

  • Sai Silks Kalamandir reported turnover of Rs 375 crore, compared with Rs 379 crore a year earlier, and added about 30,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
