Stock Market Highlights: Nifty, Sensex End Higher As HDFC Bank Leads Gains
On the NSE, 11 out of the 15 sectors ended in the green, with the Nifty Auto, Finance and Bank gaining the most.

The benchmark equity indices closed higher on Wednesday, led by shares of HDFC Bank Ltd. and ICICI Bank Ltd.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 159 points or 0.63% higher at 25,219.90, while the BSE Sensex closed 539.83 points or 0.66% up at 82,726.64.







Shares of Tata Motors Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. and Bajaj Finance Ltd. were among the top gainers in the Nifty.
Tata Consumers Products Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Infosys Ltd., and Bharat Electronics Ltd. were among the biggest laggards.

In terms of points contribution, HDFC Bank Ltd. and ICICI Bank Ltd. led the gains in the Nifty, while Infosys Ltd., and HUL weighed on the index the most.

On the NSE, 11 out of the 15 sectors ended in the green, with the Nifty Auto, Finance and Bank gaining the most.

The broader market indices underperformed the benchmarks as the BSE MidCap advanced 0.24% and the SmallCap rose 0.05%.

The market breadth was skewed in favour of the sellers as 2,025 stocks declined, 2,006 advanced and 167 remained unchanged on the BSE.
