Reliance Securities Report

The Indian rupee ended weak on this Monday in a choppy trading session.

Weak U.S. dollar, strong Asian currencies supported by improved risk appetite lent support initially.

However, the Reserve Bank of India's presence amid expectations of more investment flows in the coming sessions capped gains in the currency this Monday.

The rupee ended at 73.29 this Monday to the dollar compared with 73.15 on Thursday.

Markets this week will be volatile as investors await key events.

Investors will now be looking to vice presidential nominees Mike Pence and Kamala Harris' debate on Wednesday.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex and the broader Nifty 50 index rose for the third consecutive session to end 0.71% and 0.76% higher respectively on Monday.

The safe-haven U.S. dollar dipped on Monday on optimism that U.S. lawmakers will agree on new stimulus to blunt the economic impact of the coronavirus, while investors awaited updates on the severity of President Donald Trump's Covid-19 symptoms.
