In a huge relief to commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) users like hotels and restaurants, the oil marketing companies on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, announced a slash in the price of the 19kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹115.50 per cylinder with immediate effect. The price cut, which is the 7th one announced since June 2022, was announced due to the softening of international prices. Usually, the oil marketing companies announce any change in the LPG prices at the beginning and middle of each month.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates In Major Cities
Following the price cut, the 19kg commercial LPG cylinder will now cost ₹1,744 in New Delhi, which was ₹1,859.50 earlier. The price of commercial LPG cylinders in Mumbai stands at ₹1,696 per cylinder, ₹1,846 in Kolkata, and ₹1,893 in Chennai.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remains Unchanged
Though the 19kg commercial LPG cylinder prices have been slashed, the price of the 14.2kg domestic LPG cylinder will remain unchanged. The last price revision in domestic LPG cylinder rates was made on July 6, 2022, where the cost per cylinder was raised by ₹50. Since then, the domestic LPG cylinder price stands at ₹1,053 per cylinder in New Delhi, ₹1,079 per cylinder in Kolkata, ₹1,052.50 per cylinder in Mumbai, and ₹1,068.50 in Chennai.
The domestic and commercial LPG cylinder rates vary from state to state as per the local VAT (value added tax).
Though the oil marketing companies in India sell the domestic 14.2kg cylinders to households at the prevailing open market prices, the Government of India provides the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana subsidies for 12 such domestic LPG cylinders each year through a direct benefit transfer to their bank accounts.
