Nifty 50 Top Gainers And Losers On Feb. 3: Bajaj Finance, Shriram Finance To Larsen & Toubro

Shares of Bajaj Finance Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Wipro Ltd., Infosys Ltd. and Shriram Finance Ltd. were the top gainers among the NSE Nifty 50 stocks on Friday.

Among the losers were shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corp., Coal India Ltd. and Tata Motors Ltd.

The benchmark indices were trading in the red throughout Monday after the Union Budget 2025 was presented by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

The market also reacted to Trump's imposition of broad tariffs in which Canada is facing a 25% levy on most of its exports, with the exception of energy products, which will be taxed at 10%. China has been subjected to a 10% tariff on its exports to the U.S.

In response to it, Canada and China have declared their intention to contest the recent tariff measures imposed by US President Donald Trump. They plan to seek resolution through the World Trade Organization and regional trade agreements.

The benchmark Sensex declined 0.41% at 77,186.74, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 0.54% to 23,354.60.

In terms of sectoral performance, IT, pharma and auto were the only sectors that ended in the green.

Top Gainers

Bajaj Finance Ltd was the top gainer on Monday as it soared 5.32%. Over the past six trading days, Bajaj Finance shares have surged by 15%. On Jan. 30, 2025, the stock surpassed its previous high of Rs 8,190, which was last reached in October 2023.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Wipro Ltd followed close as they ended the day 3.14% and 3.06% higher respectively.

Top Losers

Larsen & Toubro was the top loser, with the stock falling as much as 5.15% during the day to Rs 3,270 apiece on the NSE. Tata Consumer Products' scrip fell and closed 3.14% lower, while Oil & Natural Gas Corp. ended 3.32% lower.
