While the chemicals sector in India has demonstrated resilience during Covid-19, the current inflationary environment globally could lead to demand pressure for select chemical companies, especially where the end-user industries are non-agrochemicals and pharma. This should further restrict the ability of these companies to pass on the entire cost impact to clients.

We prefer chemical companies with a higher share of specialty revenue (which ensures efficient pass-through) and that cater to end-user industries of pharma and agrochemicals.
