- Gold and silver prices rose marginally at the start of the week in India and globally

The prices of gold and silver marginally rose at the start of this week. The price of silver rose by nearly Rs 3,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh per kg on Monday, while gold rose marginally to Rs 1.55 lakh per 10 grams, according to the India Bullions website.
In the international markets, gold and silver opened the week higher, even though the precious metals are still way off their record highs, drawing dip-buyers to the market after an exceptionally volatile week. Spot gold rose 1.3% to $5,030.85 an ounce and silver gained 2.2% to $79.75 during Asian trading hours.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures for March was flat at Rs 2,49,499 per kilogram. Gold futures followed a similar pattern. The April contract was teady at Rs 1,55,050 per 10 grams, compared with Friday's close of Rs 1,55,451 per 10 grams.

In Mumbai, the financial heart of the country, 24-carat gold is retailing at approximately Rs 1,55,000 per 10 grams. Kolkata follows a similar trend, with its gold rate reported at Rs 1,54,800. Both cities are ahead of the national capital, Delhi, where the 24-carat rate currently stands at Rs 1,54,730.
The southern markets continue to record the highest figures in the country. Chennai leads the metros with a peak rate of Rs 1,55,450, while Hyderabad and Bengaluru follow closely at Rs 1,55,250 and Rs 1,55,120 respectively, keeping the price gap between the southern hubs and the northern capital distinct.

Here is how the silver rates are unfolding across major Indian hubs today: In Mumbai, prices are steady at Rs 246,870 per kg. In the national capital too, the silver rate is below Rs 2.5 lakh.
Chennai and Hyderabad are seeing silver trade at approximately Rs 2,47,590 and Rs 2,47,260 per kg, respectively. Bengaluru follows closely, with rates hovering around Rs 2,47,060 per kg. Kolkata is also witnessing a fall with silver currently trading at roughly Rs 246,540.
