'The Kerala Story 2' Box Office Day 4: Film Crosses Rs 10-Crore Mark On Opening Weekend

‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond' has finally made its way to cinemas after a brief legal hurdle delayed its release. The film began screening late on its opening day after Kerala High Court lifted the stay order only in the evening, allowing shows to commence at night. Despite the delayed start, the sequel managed to register steady growth over its first weekend at the box office, but there was a sharp dip on Monday.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film raked in Rs 10.15 crore in its first three days and added an estimated Rs 0.23 crore on Day 4.

The Kamakhya Narayan Singh directorial opened to a modest Rs 0.75 crore on Friday. Collections jumped significantly on Saturday with Rs 4.65 crore, registering a massive 520% growth. Sunday remained steady at Rs 4.75–Rs 5 crore, helping the film cross the Rs 10-crore milestone in its opening weekend. However, Monday saw a major slowdown in footfall.

The Hindi occupancy on Day 4 stood at 6.29% overall, with only the morning shows reporting measurable attendance. Occupancy for the rest of the day was yet to pick up at the time of reporting.

Kolkata and Surat reported low footfall at 3%, and Chennai registered no measurable occupancy from 29 shows in the morning slot.

In comparison, its 2023 predecessor, The Kerala Story, started with Rs 8.03 crore at the box office and climbed to Rs 16.4 crore on its first Sunday in India and went on to become a blockbuster with over Rs 300 crore worldwide. The sequel, mounted on a reported budget of Rs 28 crore, has so far grossed around Rs 12.3 crore globally, with domestic earnings forming the major share.
