New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Thursday reported a 10.94 per cent decline in domestic sales at 13,941 units last month.
The auto maker had sold 15,655 units in August 2015, it said in a statement.
Last month, HCIL sold 784 units of small car Brio, 3,818 units of premium hatchback Jazz, 2,488 units of compact sedan Amaze, 290 units of MPV Mobilio and 4,255 units of mid-sized sedan City.
The company also sold 2,229 units of its new compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) BR-V.
Besides, it sold 77 units of SUV CRV.
In addition, it exported a total of 664 units during the month.
"We have been continuing our sales efforts to streamline our stock levels at the dealerships and are geared up for the festive season starting from this month in some parts of the country," Honda Cars India president and CEO Yoichiro Ueno said.
