Akshay Kumar's horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has begun its box office journey on a moderate note. The film earned an India net collection of Rs 4.29 crore on Day 1 (April 17). The film's total India net collection stands at Rs 7.79 crore, while the gross collection has reached Rs 9.26 crore so far, as per early updates from Sacnilk.
The film is currently running across a wide 7,029 shows nationwide, but the numbers indicate a slow start considering the scale of release.
Occupancy Remains Low
The overall occupancy for the movie stayed around 10.77%, which indicates a slow start. The morning shows opened weak at 10.77%, but there was some improvement in the afternoon, with occupancy rising to 19.15%. Evening and night show data is still awaited, which could slightly improve the overall trend.
Region-Wise Performance
The film saw a mixed response across cities on Day 1, with some places performing better than others. Lucknow recorded the highest occupancy at 17%, followed by Chennai with 16% and Jaipur at 15%, showing relatively better interest from audiences.
In other cities, the response was average. Bengaluru and Chandigarh had 12% occupancy each, while Pune and NCR stood at 11%. Mumbai, an important market for the film, saw around 10% occupancy, which indicates a decent but not strong turnout.
Some cities reported lower numbers. Kolkata had around 10% occupancy, while Hyderabad was slightly lower at 9%. On the weaker side, Bhopal recorded 7%, Ahmedabad 6%, and Surat had the lowest at just 4%.
Although the film has some presence in southern regions, occupancy remained moderate despite some afternoon growth.
