The box office is currently witnessing two films at very different stages of their theatrical journeys, yet both continue to draw attention for how they are holding up with audiences.

Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge, even in its sixth week, remains a towering presence. On Day 37, the film added around Rs 0.08 crore, taking its total India net collection to Rs 1,122.62 crore, while the gross has climbed to Rs 1,343.72 crore. The film is now running in just over 500 theatres with occupancy around 9%, indicating that its long and powerful run is gradually nearing its final phase.

The journey, however, has been nothing short of extraordinary. The film opened with Rs 43 crore and quickly crossed Rs 100 crore on its first full day. The opening weekend saw collections consistently above Rs 110 crore, pushing its Week 1 total to Rs 674.17 crore. Even in the following weeks, it maintained strong numbers before eventually slowing down after crossing the Rs 1,100-crore mark.

Bhooth Bangla Builds Momentum

Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla is progressing through its initial weeks with a steady pace. The film wrapped up its first week with Rs 84.05 crore net in India and a worldwide gross of Rs 135.45 crore, supported by Rs 35.5 crore from overseas markets. On Day 7, it collected Rs 5.15 crore domestically, continuing a consistent run after its opening weekend.

The film began with Rs 3.75 crore and saw growth over the weekend, peaking at Rs 23 crore on Day 3. Post-weekend, collections settled into a stable range, reflecting a typical weekday trend while maintaining a presence in theatres across more than 10,000 shows during its first week.

Footfall Trends Over Time

Occupancy trends for both films reflect their respective stages. While Dhurandhar 2 saw peak occupancy levels between 54% and 76% during its early run, it has now eased into single-digit figures. Priyadarshan-directed Bhooth Bangla, on the other hand, has seen moderate footfall, with weekday occupancy largely between 12% and 20%, and slightly stronger turnout over weekends.

Current Box Office Scenario

With one film concluding a record-breaking run and the other continuing its theatrical journey, both Dhurandhar 2 and Bhoot Bangla remain active at the box office-each sustaining audience attention in its own phase.
