Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan was seen getting teary-eyed during a promotional event for his upcoming production titled 'Ek Din', starring his son, Junaid Khan, and actress Sai Pallavi.

The musical event, 'Ek Din Ki Mehfil', was held in Mumbai on Sunday. Aamir, who was seated beside the lead pair, appeared deeply moved watching their performances, with videos circulating online showing the actor wiping away tears.

The musical evening celebrated 'Ek Din', a romantic film that marks Sai Pallavi's much-awaited Hindi film debut after years of acclaimed performances in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Aamir is producing the film under the Aamir Khan Productions banner.

Aamir, who has previously described himself as a "real sucker for mushy romantic films," was also seen humming a song from the film.

Aamir Khan Praises Sai Pallavi And Junaid Khan

At the event, Aamir showered high praise on Sai Pallavi, describing her as "the best actress we have in our country today." In a lighter vein, he appreciated his son Junaid Khan, remarking, "Junaid ne bhi acha khasa kaam kiya hai." (Junaid has also done quite a good job)

About 'Ek Din'

'Ek Din' explores how a single day can change two lives forever. The film follows Rohan, a socially awkward yet sincere young man, secretly in love with his colleague Meera. During a company trip to Japan, he makes a wish through a 'fortune bell' to be with Meera for just one day. It is granted, but in a completely unexpected way.

'Ek Din' is an Indian remake of the 2016 Thai film 'One Day'. 

Directed by Sunil Pandey, the film is backed by producers Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 1.
