In a bid to curb crimes that take place during the night, Bengaluru City Police have launched a city-wide drive called ‘Operation Suraksha'. The special night operation aims to curb antisocial activities, narcotics, and public nuisance in the city, and is a joint effort of the local police and the central crime branch (CCB).
According to the city police, stringent action will be taken against antisocial elements indulging in unlawful activities in public places and individuals involved in consumption and sale of narcotic substances.
As per a report in The Hindu, police claimed that since the commencement of Operation Suraksha, incidents of snatching of chains and mobile phones, and similar crimes had come down.
