The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday published booth-wise lists of voters whose cases were decided by tribunals, clearing them to vote in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.

Two separate lists have been uploaded on the Commission's official portal — one featuring voters included after tribunal orders and another listing those who remain excluded.

As many as 139 voters have been added to the electoral roll through Tribunal orders just ahead of the first phase of polling in West Bengal, according to reports.

The Tribunal decided 650 cases, of which 139 names were included in the voter list, and these individuals will be eligible to cast their ballots in the first phase.

With this addition, the total number of voters in the first phase stands at 3,60,77,310.

These revisions follow the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, during which several names were removed.

Affected individuals were allowed to approach tribunals set up under directions of the Supreme Court of India.

Invoking Article 142, the apex court ruled that voters cleared by tribunals up to two days before polling must be allowed to vote.

Officials said a consolidated electoral roll, incorporating newly added names, will be issued ahead of polling. The second phase of elections will take place on April 29, with another updated list expected on April 27.
