(Bloomberg) -- More Swedes than ever want the nation to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, with support for the defense bloc surging after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In a poll commissioned by daily tabloid Aftonbladet, as many as 57% of the respondents support a membership, up from 51% over the past month. Of the people asked, 21% said they are against Sweden joining the alliance while 22% were unsure.

Support is also growing in neighboring Finland, which has started a process that is expected to favor membership too. Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said last week that the Nordic country is still analyzing its options.
