Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged the importance of the KYC, re-KYC and changing passwords regularly in his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' episode.

"Correct KYC, timely re-KYC keeps your account safe. Become an empowered citizen, because only empowered citizens will build a strong and self-reliant India."

Modi stated that he has spoken at length about Digital Arrest, however, even after a lot of awareness, such incidents were happening, and urged people to remain alert against digital arrest scams.

Speaking about KYC (Know Your Customer), amandatory verification process used by banks and financial institutions, the Prime Minister said that one should not get worried upon getting a KYC or re-KYC message from the bank even if they have already done it, as it is for the safety of money.

"Today, pension, subsidies, insurance, UPI, everything is connected to bank. Therefore, it is important to do re-KYCs from time to time."

The Prime Minister also warned about culprits making false calls and sending links, asking citizens not to fall prey to them.

"You should do KYC or re-KYC only through the branch of the bank or apps or authorised medium. One should not share the information or otps related to anyone," said the Prime Minister, advising  to change the passwords regularly.

Meanwhile, speaking about the India AI Impact Summit, the Prime Minister said that it was a turning point in how the world will use the power of AI in the future.

"At the summit, I got the opportunity to meet the world leaders and tech CEOs. In this summit, it explained how AI is helping us in the treatment of animals and how farmers keep track of their dairy and animals with the help of 24x7 AI assistance."

The Prime Minister also shared a story of a young farmer named Hirod Patel.

"Until about eight years ago, he cultivated paddy in the traditional way with his father, Shiv Shankar Patel, but then, he began to approach farming from a new perspective," said Modi.
