The World Trade Organization (WTO) has said that the meeting on relaunching trade talks in the wake of the settlement of a US-India row over food subsidies has been postponed to Thursday.
The meeting of the general council at WTO headquarters in Geneva, which had been set for Wednesday, will seek to clear the way for a resumption of negotiations towards a landmark pact to ease global trade barriers.
India and the United States reached a breakthrough on November 13 in a food subsidies spat that had left the trade talks at an impasse for months.
India had refused to endorse the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) in July unless its food stockpiles were exempted from possible punitive measures, prompting the United States to accuse it of taking the WTO "to the brink of crisis".
