With the aim of tapping the vast potential in the area of parcel traffic, Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge today announced transportation of milk through special parcel trains across the country.
Spelling out an aggressive strategy to attract more parcel traffic to rail in the interim Rail Budget 2014-15, Mr Kharge said, "A new policy on parcel will be formulated which shall also encourage transportation of milk across the country."
He announced launching of special parcel trains on scheduled timings besides parcel trains from nominated parcel terminals.
A new concept of hub for parcel business will be introduced, he said.
