(Bloomberg) -- Subaru retail stores in South Florida are closed as dealers prepare for a potential lashing from Hurricane Irma this weekend, spokesman Michael McHale said in an email.
The U.S. unit of Japan's Subaru Corp. stopped shipping vehicles to most Florida dealerships a couple of days ago, though the company has continued shipping parts to stores that are still able to perform service, he said. Dealers have started storing cars inside, including in service bays, to protect them from winds expected to hit with the storm.
“There's very little happening on the sales side right now throughout most of the state,” he said. “We expect business to recover any short-term loss by the end of the month or into early next month.”
