As part of the demerger of Astra Microwave Products Ltd. and its Space, Meteorology and Hydrology business undertakings into a separate entity, the Managing Director S. Gurunatha Reddy will be stepping down, as per an exchange filing on Friday. 

"Mr. S. Gurunatha Reddy will step down from the position of Managing Director of AMPL with eƯect from the close of business hours on 30th September, 2026. He shall, however, continue as Executive Director in AMPL," the filing stated.

As per the filing, Reddy will be taking up additional responsibility of overseeing the ongoing demerger of the Space and Meteorology business and thereafter shall join Astra Space Technologies Private Ltd. (ASTPL) as a Director subject to the approval of the Board.

"In this role, he will lead the adoption of tailored growth strategies and capital allocation frameworks suited to the Space, Meteorology and Hydrology sector, thereby enabling focused management attention, enhanced operational eƯiciency and the unlocking of value for the shareholders of the Company," the filing added. 

The filing further informed that M. V. Reddy, the current Joint Managing Director will assume the role of Managing Director of AMPL from Oct. 1, 2026, subject to the approval of the Board. 

"Further pleased to inform that Dr. M. V. Reddy, the current Joint Managing Director subject to the approval of the Board, will assume the role of Managing Director of AMPL with eƯect from 1st October 2026. The Company is confident that under his leadership, AMPL will attain even more significant milestones in the years ahead," it said.

Astra Microwave's stock ended 6.19% higher at Rs 953.4 apiece on the NSE on Thursday. This compared to a 0.15% advance in the Nifty index.
