As airlines in the domestic market continue to eye more customers than rivals, Jet Airways has come with a scheme offering a 5 per cent discount on one-way base fares of select flights.
Jet Airways' this "Lofares" offer is valid on premiere and economy fares, and on tickets bought via its website or app, the carrier said.
Bookings, under the scheme which covers select flights on its domestic network, can be made till May 31, 2015 for travel between May 9 and September 30, 2015.
Some of the one-way journeys covered under the scheme include Bengaluru-Goa, Delhi-Pune, Delhi-Jaipur, Mumbai-Vadodara and Kolkata-Delhi. "This offer is not applicable if booking is done using the MultiCity option," the airline said on its website.
Airlines have time and again come up with attractive offers to lure more customers than rivals.
Jet Airways had last week announced another promotional scheme under which it offered fares as low as Rs 1,933 on advance bookings for flights within India. Rival SpiceJet last month extended its Rs 999 offer by adding nearly 1 lakh seats. This was in addition to 1.5 lakh seats offered earlier under the scheme.
Air travel demand in India rose by almost 18 per cent in March on account of improved economy and market stimulation by way of heavy discounts offered by the players in the domestic market, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said recently.

The airlines body further said that the nearly 18 per cent increase in demand was more than-two fold of the global average.
