The Union Government on Tuesday launched CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal to help crores of depositors of Sahara Group claim their money back in 45 days.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said this is the first time when depositors are getting refunds in a case where multiple government agencies are involved and each one has done a seizure.

CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal Direct Login link
The login link to the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal is https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/. It is developed by a subsidiary of IFCI, for submission of legitimate claims by the depositors of these cooperative societies. The portal can be accessed through Ministry of Cooperation website https://cooperation.gov.in.
Sahara Refund Portal: Who can apply?
The genuine and legitimate Depositors of following four Sahara Societies are eligible for refund through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal:
Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., Kolkata
Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., Lucknow
Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd., Hyberabad
Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd., Bhopal
Eligibility criteria for filing a claim on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?
The Depositors must have made deposits & have outstanding dues receivable before the following dates, for filing a claim request:
22nd March 2022 for:
Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
29th March 2023 for:
Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.
CRCS Sahara Refund Portal: How To Register?
Mentioned below are the steps for depositor registration.
Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal and click on "Depositor Registration."
Fill in the details as required, the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Registration Page accurately.
Click on "Get OTP" and enter the OTP received.
Click "Verify OTP" to complete the mandatory registration process
How to apply for a claim on CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal?
To file for claims, there are two important requirements: Aadhaar registration with mobile and Aadhaar-linking with the bank account where refund is to be deposited.
Here are the steps to apply
Visit CRCS Sahara Refund Portal - https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/.
Click on 'Depositer Login' tab.
Enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Number, your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number, and the Captcha. Then click 'Get OTP'.
Once you have logged in, you need to give your consent as prompted by Aadhaar.
Proceed ahead by accepting the terms and conditions (do read the fine details).
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number and click 'Get OTP'.
Enter the OTP and click 'Verify OTP'.
After verification, your Aadhaar user details will be displayed on the screen.
Submit the 'Certificate of Deposit' details.
Click 'Submit Claim'.
The pre-filled claimed request will be created once you enter all the details as requested.
Important: Kindly ensure all claim details are entered before preparing the form, as it cannot be modified or added later.
Affix your latest photograph and sign the claim form.
Upload the claim form and a copy of your PAN on the 'Upload Document' screen. Please note that the PAN card is mandatory if the claim amount is Rs. 50,000 or more.
Note down the claim request number for future reference.

CRCS-Sahara Refund Money Rollout Process
Amit Shah said first, the depositors would get up to Rs. 10,000 refund and subsequently the amount would be increased for those who have invested higher amounts. In the first phase, the needs of 1.7 crore depositors will be met considering there is a corpus of Rs. 5,000 crore.
Shah added that once the Rs. 5,000 crore is utilised, they will approach the Supreme Court and request them to release more money so that the total refund of other depositors with higher amounts is processed.
Shah claimed that depositors in four cooperative societies of Sahara Group will get refund of their money in 45 days.

CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal: Objective
The main objective of CRCS-Sahara Refund portal is to protect interest of the members of the cooperatives. Approximately 2.5 crore people have deposits of up to Rs. 30,000 in the four cooperative societies namely Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd, Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. The portal aims for relief for the depositers whose money is stuck.
