Budget carrier IndiGo has announced a discount offer yet again to take on rival SpiceJet. Under the scheme, IndiGo is offering all-inclusive fares as low Rs 1,499 on advance bookings. For this offer, bookings should be made 90 days before the travel date.
The offer is valid for traveling from Delhi to cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune and Goa besides others. The fare for travelling to Jaipur from Delhi is Rs 1,499, while to Mumbai is Rs 2,953
Jet Airways has also lowered the base fares by up to 35 per cent on its international routes for a limited period, which will also be applicable on the network of its partner airline Gulf-based Etihad.
On Tuesday, SpiceJet had put on block one lakh seats on its domestic and international routes with tickets priced as low as Rs 1,699 for travel within the country. This is the fifth low fare scheme this year from SpiceJet. The travel period for this SpiceJet offer is between March 1 and April 20 and will close on February 26.
January-March and July-September quarters of the fiscal are traditionally low travel demand period in the country. So airlines roll out such discount fare schemes to woo customers, say analysts.
