Sensex and Nifty continued to trade on a flat note with a negative bias in the noon deals on Thursday on the back of listless trading in most of the heavyweight stocks.
Meanwhile, healthcare stocks were witnessing buying in trades today led by gains in Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Shares of Sun Pharma have risen 19 per cent in the last six trading sessions.
Capital goods, IT and metal stocks were witnessing a mild profit-booking while banking, auto and oil & gas stocks were trading on a flat note.
From the Nifty basket, Lupin was the top gainer. The stock was up 2.2 per cent at Rs 1,827. HUL, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, HCL Technologies and Wipro were also trading higher by 1-2 per cent each.
On the other hand, Cairn India, Ultratech Cement, ACC, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, NMDC and Zee Entertainment were among the losers, down 1.5-3 per cent each.
At 11:16 PM, the Sensex was down 17 points at 29,363 and Nifty was at 8,908, down 14 points.
