Bhavish Aggarwal Goes Full Elon Musk Amid Ola Electric Layoffs
All Ola Group employees have to send a weekly email to kyachalrahahai@olagroup.com to update on the work done. This would form the basis of whether they get to keep their job.

Taking a page out of Elon Musk’s ‘DOGE’ playbook, Bhavish Aggarwal wants all Ola Group employees to send a weekly email on the work done. That would form the basis of whether they get to keep their job or not.
“We’re starting ‘Kya Chal Raha Hai?’ — a simple way to share your weekly updates directly with me and your managers, starting today,” Aggarwal wrote in his message to employees. “Please send a brief update to your manager and kyachalrahahai@olagroup.in with 3-5 bullet points about what you got done last week.”
“Keep it simple and to the point. Use the email subject: ‘weekly updates’... Going forward, we will expect the email before Sunday EOD. Everyone has to send this, no exceptions.”
While NDTV Profit hasn’t seen a copy of the email, sources communicated the contents of the email to this writer. According to them, Aggarwal went on to say that he would use AI to read and analyse all emails. More firings will be on this basis, the sources said.
An email sent to Ola Electric on Monday remained unanswered.
Aggarwal’s move mirrors that of Musk who demanded US federal workers to summarise their work accomplishments in a weekly email. Not responding to the email request would be viewed as a resignation. On March 1, the Trump administration sent a second round of emails after the previous effort fizzled out.
