Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the UAE was 'directly involved' in military operations against Tehran, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held separate meetings with several visiting foreign ministers attending the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, including Russia's Sergey Lavrov, Iran's Abbas Araghchi, South Africa's Ronald Lamola, and Brazil's Mauro Vieira.
The interactions took place on the sidelines of the BRICS gathering hosted in New Delhi. Modi also joined the visiting ministers and delegations for the official BRICS family photograph, bringing together representatives from member states and partner nations participating in the high-level diplomatic engagement.
US President Donald Trump kicked off the busiest portion of his China visit, a summit expected to be long on pageantry and symbolism but unlikely to feature major breakthroughs on key issues like trade, US relations with Taiwan or the war in Iran.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, without naming specific nations, said that respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity must anchor international relations, maintaining that "dialogue and diplomacy" offer the only sustainable path to conflict resolution.
Jaishankar said India stands ready to contribute constructively towards de-escalation efforts and to support initiatives aimed at restoring stability.
The external affairs minister also strongly pitched for ensuring safe and unimpeded maritime flows through the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea, and voiced concerns over the "grave humanitarian implications" of the conflict in Gaza.

Two India-Bound LPG CarrieTwo India-bound vessels laden with cooking fuel from the Persian Gulf appear to have transited the Strait of Hormuz, making them the latest to exit despite continued restrictions from the US and Iran. One of the liquefied petroleum gas carriers, Symi, emerged in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday after turning off its transponder, with the other — NV Sunshine — also following suit a few hours later.

At BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says, "While ready to fight with everything we have in defence of our freedom and our soil, we are equally ready to pursue and defend diplomacy. As I have repeatedly stated, there is no such thing as a military solution to anything related to Iran."
"We Iranians never bow to any pressure or threats, but we reciprocate the language of respect. As much as our powerful armed forces remain ready to exact devastating retribution on foreign aggressors, my people are peace-loving and do not seek war. We are not aggressors in this sordid situation, but the aggrieved," Araghchi says

At BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says, "To virtually everyone in this room, our resistance against US bullying is not an unfamiliar battle. So many of us encounter slight variations of the same repugnant coercion.
It is high time for us to jointly step up and work towards making clear that those practices belong in the dustbin of history. Today, our nations are closer to one another than ever before, and we cannot ignore the common and dangerous challenge we all face. History has shown that empires in decline will stop at nothing to arrest their inevitable fates. A wounded animal will desperately claw and roar on its way down."

Ministry of Foreign Affairs China's readout on President Xi Jinping Holds Talks with US President Donald J. Trump:
President Xi stressed that the Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-U.S. relations. If it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability. Otherwise, the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy. “Taiwan independence” and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water. Safeguarding peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the biggest common denominator between China and the U.S. The U.S. side must exercise extra caution in handling the Taiwan question.
Taipei described China on Thursday as the "sole risk" to regional peace and stability, firing back at Chinese President Xi Jinping who used his high-stakes summit with US President Donald Trump in Beijing to warn that mishandling the Taiwan question could push the two superpowers toward "clashes and even conflict".
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all commercial shipping, but vessels must coordinate with Iran's naval forces before passing through.
A ship anchored off the east coast of the United Arab Emirates has been seized and is heading toward Iranian waters, the British military said.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations centre said it received reports that the vessel was taken by unauthorised personnel while anchored 38 nautical miles (70 kilometers) northeast of the UAE port of Fujairah, near the Strait of Hormuz.
MEA statement on the attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman
The attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman yesterday is unacceptable and we deplore the fact that commercial shipping and civilian mariners continue to be targeted.
2. All Indian crew on board are safe and we thank the Omani authorities for rescuing them.
3. India reiterates that targeting commercial shipping and endangering innocent civilian crew members, or otherwise impeding freedom of navigation and commerce, should be avoided.

China has changed the way US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's name is written. This was done to let him enter the country for a high-level meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said Washington hopes to convince Beijing during the talks between President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart to play a "more active role" in resolving the Iran war crisis.
Speaking to Fox News aboard Air Force One on the way to Beijing, Rubio said the Iran war was a “huge source of instability” and “threatens to destabilise Asia more than any other part of the world because it’s heavily reliant on the straits for energy”.
"It's in (China’s) interest to resolve this. We hope to convince them to play a more active role in getting Iran to walk away from what they’re doing now and trying to do now in the Persian Gulf,” he said, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported on Thursday.
Holding fort at the White House, Vice President J D Vance likened his experience to Macaulay Culkin in the 1990 film Home Alone. The US Secret Service protocols do not allow the president and the vice president to travel abroad together to protect the line of succession.
"As you know, the president just landed in China a few hours ago. You may know that because of Secret Service protocols, I don't travel outside of the country with the president of the United States,” Vance told reporters in Washington. "So on days like today, I sometimes feel like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone. I walk into the White House, and it's very quiet, and no one's there, and it takes me a second to realise exactly what's going on," the vice president said, drawing laughter from the roomful of reporters.

The highly anticipated bilateral talks between US President Donald Trump and President of China Xi Jinping have begun in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing. US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are set to tackle thorny issues dividing the two superpowers when they meet with Iran, trade and Taiwan on the cards.
Chinese President Xi Jinping says, "Welcome back to China after 9 years. The whole world is watching our meeting. Currently, a transformation not seen in a century is accelerating across the globe, and the international situation is fluid and turbulent. The world has come to a new crossroads. Can China and the United States overcome the Thucydides trap and create a new paradigm of major country relations?..."
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, says to ANI, "We are in favour of having BRICS Declaration. We want BRICS hosted by India to be successful. We don’t want to give the message that BRICS is divided. Only one neighbouring country of Iran is pushing to put condemnation of Iran for attacking its neighbours"

Iran FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi and other foreign ministers of the BRICS member states are scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
After the Middle East conflict escalated, Iran urged India, as the current BRICS chair, to leverage its "independent role" to halt the US-Israel hostilities against Iran.
Beijing swing comes as Iran continues to dominate his domestic agenda and stoke fears about the prospect of a weakening US economy as the election season ahead of November's midterms — when Republicans will be looking to maintain control of Congress — begins heating up.
Spending so much time with Xi — especially against splendiferous backdrops — will afford ample time for Trump to discuss a series of thorny topics. Those include Iran and trade, but also Taiwan and a possible three-way nuclear arms deal featuring Washington, Beijing and Russia.
Still, progress beyond pleasantries — and lots of praise between Trump and Xi, who have spent years effusively complimenting each other publicly — might prove elusive.

The White House says Trump won't travel to China without expecting results, suggesting potential announcements on trade like Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans, beef, and aircraft. Officials also want to establish a Board of Trade with China to address commercial disputes. However, neither side has shared concrete details from the three-day visit, and Beijing’s close economic ties to Iran could complicate matters.
Oil prices steadied on Thursday as investors turned their attention to a high-stakes meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, while concerns over the Iran war continued to support crude prices.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Sean Hannity aboard Air Force One that the US is pushing China to confront Iran over its actions in the Persian Gulf. He said Chinese ships are stuck there and a Chinese cargo was hit over the weekend, likely unintentionally by Iran. Rubio called the situation a major source of instability for Asia due to energy reliance on the strait, and said the US hopes China will help get Iran to stop its current actions.
