In a striking statement on evolving United States–Iran relations, US President Donald Trump indicated a potential breakthrough following what he described as a “very productive regime change” in Iran, alongside fresh commitments on nuclear controls and economic engagement.
Trump in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday said the United States would work closely with Iran under the new circumstances, emphasising that there would be no enrichment of uranium going forward. The remarks signal a significant shift in the long-standing tensions between the two countries, particularly on the contentious nuclear issue that has shaped global diplomacy for years.
According to Trump, Washington will collaborate with Tehran to locate and remove what he referred to as deeply buried nuclear “dust,” allegedly linked to facilities targeted during recent US military operations involving B-2 bombers. He added that these sites have remained untouched since the date of the attack and are being monitored under “exacting satellite surveillance,” including by the US Space Force.

Beyond security, Trump also pointed to economic negotiations as part of the evolving framework. He said discussions are underway on tariff adjustments and sanctions relief, indicating a possible easing of restrictions that have long constrained Iran's economy.
“Many of the 15 points have already been agreed to,” Trump noted, hinting at a broader multi-point understanding between the two sides, although details of the framework were not disclosed.
In addition, Trump has levied a whopping 50% tariff on countries supplying weapons and arms to Iran, according to his post on Truth Social on Wednesday.
"A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!," he said in the post.
At present, China, Russia, and North Korea are the primary arms suppliers to Tehran.
