In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in Mynmar, more than 1,000 people are reported to be dead and 2,000 people were injured, as per Bloomberg's reports. Number of missing people has risen to 68. On Friday a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, biggest in century, struck the central Mynmar causing destructions in large part of the city.

Mynmar's ruling Military General Min Aung Hlaing declared a state of emergency in several areas and requested for international help to deal with the situation. He also warned that the death will rise further.

The massive earthquake also shook lands far away from its epicentre Mandalay. An under-construction skyscrapper crumbled down in Thailand's capital city Bangkok, leaving 10 casualties, 16 injured, and 103 missing. The Thai Government has declared it as level 3 disaster.

The earthquake has sent tremors to Vietnam and China as well.

From India, 15 tonnes of relief materials arrived in Mynmar, which includes ready-to-eat meals, tents, hygiene kits, purifier, and generators, NDTV World reported.

The powerful but shallow 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Mynmar's Sagaing at 12:50 p.m. Friday at depth of 10 kilometres. This was followed by strong aftershocks ranging from 3.5–7.
