Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has made six new appointments to the country's Revolutionary Guards and armed forces, as reported by  Arab News.

Among the appointments, Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi has been named chief of staff of Iran's armed forces, while Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The appointments come as Khamenei reshuffles key positions within Iran's military and Revolutionary Guards.

The new appointments include changes across the country's armed forces and the IRGC, with Abdollahi and Vahidi taking up two of the key positions.

Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi will serve as chief of staff of the armed forces, while Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi will take charge as commander-in-chief of the IRGC.

The appointments mark changes at senior levels of Iran's military establishment under Khamenei.
