Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) mocked US President Donald Trump on a live TV show, using his own catchphrase, saying, "Hey Trump, you are fired!"
The jibe was in response to Trump's 48-hour ultimatum to Tehran to open the Strait of Hormuz. IRGC spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari mimicked Trump while speaking in English: "Hey Trump, you are fired! You are familiar with this sentence." He followed this up with another frequently used line by Trump: "Thank you for your attention to this matter."
Originally a reality TV hook from The Apprentice, "You're fired" is Trump's signature line from his time as host on the show.

IRGC sharpened its tone after Trump warned Iran over disruption on the routes of the Strait of Hormuz affecting fuel supply chains around the globe. In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “If Iran doesn't FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Iran warns US and Israel
IRGC spokesman Zolfaghari warned that all US-Israel energy, desalination plants, and IT facilities in the region could become targets of retaliation if Iran's own petroleum and energy infrastructure were attacked.
“War equations are shifting rapidly,” he warned, claiming they had intercepted several enemy aircraft and shot down a US-Israel drone over Tehran.

According to state media, the IRGC has issued a direct warning that if Iran's power plants are targeted, they could "completely close" the Strait of Hormuz until the country's energy infrastructure is fully restored.
