A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Buldir Island, Alaska on Wednesday.
According to the Alaska Earthquake Center, the quake struck at 4:26 am about 25 miles southeast of Buldir Island and roughly 84 miles from Segula Peak.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the 5.3 magnitude quake at a shallow depth of 10.6 miles (16 km).
So far, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

"We have reviewed a M5.3 earthquake that occurred at 4:26 am AK time. This event was located 144 miles ESE of Attu Station and 11 miles deep. No reports if this event being felt have been received at this time," said Alaska Earthquake Center in a post on X.
According to the "Did You Feel It" page on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) website, so far, residents of Alaska have not reported feeling shaking.
