WWE is reportedly hoping to bring back 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin for a special appearance on next week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. According to comments made during a WrestleVotes Q&A on Fightful Select, the company has held conversations with the Hall of Famer about a potential return as part of the annual “3:16 Day” celebrations in San Antonio, Texas.
With the date aligning with his iconic 3:16 catchphrase, fans have been speculating the 'Texas Rattlesnake' might step back into the spotlight. With the show scheduled on a date closely associated with him and taking place in his home state of Texas, speculation within WWE has reportedly grown about a possible appearance by ‘Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
WrestleVotes Radio reports that although no formal invitation has been publicly announced, there is internal optimism that the Hall of Famer could attend the event.

“We talked to a couple people over the weeeknd….there have been conversations that I don't want to say WWE has invited Steve Austin to Raw next Monday night on 3:16 day in San Antonio, Texas. But there are people who work for the company that are very hopeful Stone Cold Steve Austin will be on that Monday Night Raw just a week from tonight. You see, you know what I find most interesting? This would be his first Monday Night Raw appearance since before COVID,” WrestleVotes said, according to a report from WrestlingNews.co.
“They've talked to him. That's the basis of this bonus report…Well, I mean, the date, the location, it's WrestleMania season. It all makes sense. So, really hope Austin decides to show up, take them up on their offer,” it added.
The last time Austin wrestled was at WrestleMania 38, when he stunned fans by defeating Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred encounter.
He later made a short cameo at WrestleMania 41 to reveal the event's attendance numbers, and his iconic submission match with Bret Hart was subsequently recognised with a Hall of Fame induction.
According to Sportsnaut, the growing talk around a potential 3:16 Day cameo by Austin is now being viewed in the context of WWE's “Road to WrestleMania”. Online rumours have also begun suggesting that the former champion could appear at WrestleMania 42.
WWE Raw will go live from San Antonio's Frost Bank Centre on March 16. The venue is advertising a strong line-up for the show, with appearances expected from World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, tag team title holders The Usos, Intercontinental Champion Petna and Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.
