Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: What To Expect?

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to make its debut soon, and initial leaks indicate that the focus will be on incremental improvements instead of sweeping changes.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: What To Expect?

Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked showcase will take place on Feb. 25, setting the stage for the long-anticipated arrival of the Galaxy S26 lineup.

At the same time, a steady stream of leaks continues to shed light on the S26 Ultra, with the latest revealing what appears to be its complete specifications: pointing to an update that is restrained overall, though not without a few noteworthy refinements.

The upcoming flagship is expected to feature a marginally larger 6.89-inch display, up from 6.86 inches, while also moving to Samsung's newer M14 panel technology. The screen is tipped to support 10-bit colour, an upgrade from the previous 8-bit output, alongside third-generation anti-reflective coating. A new “privacy display” feature is also said to be in the works, aimed at reducing side-angle visibility.

Performance gains are likely to come from the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm, paired with faster memory. RAM speeds are expected to rise from 9.6 Gbps to 10.7 Gbps, which should translate into smoother multitasking and better sustained performance.

Battery capacity is tipped to remain unchanged at 5,000 mAh, but charging speeds could see a notable jump. Wired charging may increase from 45 W to 60 W, while wireless charging is rumoured to move up sharply from 15 W to 25 W, addressing a long-standing demand from power users.

On the camera front, Samsung is reportedly focusing on optics rather than sheer megapixel counts. The 200 MP main sensor is expected to retain the HP2 unit but with a wider f/1.4 aperture instead of f/1.7, potentially improving low-light performance. The 50 MP 5x telephoto camera could also see a brighter f/2.9 aperture, compared to f/3.4 on the current model. The 10 MP 3x telephoto camera may use a slightly smaller sensor than before.

Design tweaks are also on the cards. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to move away from the boxy frame towards a more rounded profile, while becoming slimmer at 7.9 mm and lighter at around 214 grams. Interestingly, Samsung may switch from a titanium build to aluminium, possibly to reduce weight and manufacturing costs.

While Samsung has not confirmed any of these details, the leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will focus on refinements rather than radical changes.

According to PhoneArena, even a year on from its launch, the Galaxy S25 Ultra remains among the strongest Android handsets available. With top-tier performance, what many consider the finest display in the segment, dependable battery endurance and a highly adaptable camera setup, it already sets a high benchmark: prompting questions about just how much further it can realistically be pushed.

Some reports indicate that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may arrive with a lower starting price than its predecessor. If accurate, it would mark an unexpected shift, particularly in light of the improvements tipped for the device. However, for now, such claims remain unconfirmed until Samsung issues an official announcement, reported Gizbot.
