Google has unveiled its Pixel 11 smartphone lineup, putting artificial intelligence and Google's Gemini assistant at the heart of its latest devices. The company introduced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL at its Made by Google event on Wednesday.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the new devices are designed to help users spend "less time on their phones and more on what really matters."

Writing on LinkedIn, Pichai highlighted several new AI-powered features, including Rambler, a voice-input tool in Gboard that can turn spoken thoughts into organised drafts across Gmail, Docs and other apps.

Another feature, Magic Capture, uses AI to identify the best moments from a scene, while HiLight uses an ambient LED glow around the camera flash to alert users to important calls without requiring them to pick up the phone.

"HiLight" is designed to help users stay connected without becoming distracted. On Pixel 11 Pro models, the LED can display different patterns when Gemini is listening, processing or responding. Users can also assign custom colours to important contacts.

Pichai also highlighted Google's new sign-to-text capability in Gboard and Live Transcribe, developed in partnership with the Deaf community to make communication using American Sign Language more seamless.

The Pixel 11 series is powered by Google's new Tensor G6 chip, which the company says is its fastest and most powerful mobile processor yet. The chip is designed to accelerate on-device AI while improving efficiency.

Google has also upgraded the camera systems. The Pixel 11 gets a larger 48-megapixel main sensor, while the Pro models feature upgraded cameras and support up to 120x Pro Zoom. Google said the Pixel 11's camera bar is 40% thinner than its predecessor.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL feature brighter Super Actua displays with peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits, while all three models start with 256GB of storage.

Google has also introduced faster charging and built-in Pixelsnap support, with Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro supporting Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

With its latest lineup, Google is positioning the Pixel 11 less as a conventional hardware upgrade and more as an AI-powered smartphone designed to make technology more useful while keeping users engaged with the world around them.
