Honor Launches Its Foldable Smartphone Magic V5 In China: Check Price And Specifications
The Honor Magic V5 has a 3 nm chip which, the company claims, provides 'unparalleled processing power and AI enhancements'.
Honor launched the Honor Magic V5 in China on Wednesday. It is the successor to the Honor Magic V3. The company claims that it is the ‘world’s thinnest foldable’ smartphone. Its battery capacity is also significantly higher than that of its predecessor.
Honor Magic V5 Specifications
The Honor Magic V5 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC chipset. According to the company, it has a 3 nm chip that provides “unparalleled processing power and AI enhancements”. The phone runs on Android 15-based MagicOS 9.1.
The device comes with up to 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB onboard storage. In terms of display specifications, it has a 7.95-inch inner screen with a flexible OLED display. It has a 2K resolution, peak brightness of 5,000 nits and a dimming rate of 4,320 Hz.
Its 6.43-inch outer screen has a pixel resolution of 2,376 x 1,060 pixels and a 120 Hz LTPO OLED display.
On the rear, the phone comes with a triple camera system with a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens. On the front, it has two 20 MP cameras, one each on the inner and outer display.
In China, the 16 GB RAM + 1 TB variant of the phone is available with a 6100 mAh battery. All the other variants come with a 5,820 mAh battery. The gadget supports 66 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging.
The Honor Magic V5 comes with IP58 and IP59 ratings for protection from dust and water. Its connectivity features include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and USB Type-C port.
When it is folded, it has a thickness of 8.8 mm. On being unfolded, it has a thickness of 4.1 mm or 4.2 mm, depending on the colour chosen. It weighs either 217 g or 222 g, according to the colour variant.
The foldable smartphone is available in four colour options— Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold and Reddish Brown.
Honor Magic V5 Price
The 12 GB RAM + 256GB storage variant of the phone is available for CNY 8,999 (about Rs 1,07,500) in China. The 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB variants come at a price of CNY 9,999 (about Rs 1,19,500) and CNY 10,999 (about Rs 1,31,400), respectively.
