Amber Enterprises said on Thursday, June 18, that it has entered into a manufacturing collaboration with Oppo Mobiles India Pvt. Ltd. under which it will manufacture mobile phones for the Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme brands in India. The landmark deal marks contract manufacturing major Amber's official entry into the high-growth smartphone manufacturing ecosystem. Oppo India currently operates as the licensed manufacturer for these three major smartphone brands in the country.
Oppo India's portfolio of brands, including Oppo, OnePlus and Realme. Amber Group said the partnership forms part of its efforts to expand its manufacturing operations, while Oppo India described the deal as leveraging Amber's manufacturing scale and operational capabilities. For Amber Group, a dominant player traditionally known for manufacturing original equipment and components in the air conditioning and consumer durables sectors, this deal represents a significant strategic pivot.

By entering the high-volume mobile manufacturing sector, Amber is actively expanding its footprint into broader consumer electronics and lowering exposure to seasonal appliance demand. Ernst & Young (EY) acted as the exclusive financial advisor for the deal, while AZB & Partners alongside Aekom Legal served as the legal advisors to ensure structural regulatory compliance. The deal is structured to leverage the structural strengths of both companies. Amber will bring its operational scale, local supply-chain strengths, and localization capabilities to maximize domestic value addition. The smartphone heavyweight will aid with its leading product expertise, cutting-edge technology, and global quality standards.

The partnership brings together two financially heavyweight entities. Oppo India recorded a revenue of approx. Rs 31,980 crore in FY25, while Amber reported a revenue of Rs 12,190 crore in FY26. The two companies plan a gradual, phased ramp-up of manufacturing operations. The step-by-step collaboration is designed to ensure strict adherence to quality and operational safety guidelines. Both have stated they are actively exploring additional collaborative opportunities under the new partnership.
