It's finally official. Mohamed Salah on Tuesday announced that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the ongoing season. The forward will leave the club as one of Liverpool's greatest players and the club's third-highest goal scorer. During his nine-year long stay at Anfield, Salah became a two-time Premier League champion, a Champions League winner and clinched several other team and individual titles. 

The Egyptian posted a video across his social media across declaring his imminent departure. 

"Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell," Salah said. "I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

"I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life," the 33-year-old added.

"Liverpool is not just a football club, it's a passion, it's a history, it's a spirit. I can't explain in words to anyone not part of this club. We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest time in our life."

Salah signed for Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma and became a formidable force that helped the club also win FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, as well as a Community Shield. 

One of Salah's most remarkable achievements is that he remains the only player to have won all three major Premier League honours, the Player of the Season, the Golden Boot, and the Golden Playmaker. He clinched all three awards in the 2024–25 season, in a sensational campaign that saw him score 34 goals and provide 23 assists.

Salah has netted 255 goals in 435 appearances across all competitions, and he only ranks behind Liverpool legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt on the Liverpool's all-time top scorers.
