Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 31, while Ramandeep Singh contributed 35, the duo adding a fighting 63-run stand, but their efforts were not enough to prevent defeat.
Earlier, useful contributions from Sanju Samson 48 in 32 balls and Dewald Brevis 41 in 29 deliveries powered CSK past the 190-mark, while Ayush Mhatre provided a quickfire 38 off just 17 balls, laced with six fours and two sixes.
For KKR, Kartik Tyagi picked up two wickets, conceding 35 runs, while Sunil Narine returned tidy figures of 1/21in his four overs.
