BCCI Announces Rs 58 Crore Cash Prize For India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Winning Team
Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final of the tournament.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced a cash reward of Rs 58 crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the final in Dubai to win the tournament for the third time after 2002 (joint winners) and 2013. India have been runners-up twice in 2000 and 2017.
This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee, the BCCI said in a statement.
Under the leadership of skipper Rohit Sharma, the Indian team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning all the five matches they played. The team began their campaign with a solid six-wicket win over Bangladesh, then secured a convincing six-wicket triumph against Pakistan. They continued their momentum with a 44-run victory over New Zealand before ultimately overcoming Australia by four wickets in the semi-final.
"Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country," BCCI President Roger Binny said in a statement.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that India's victory has "justified" India's top ranking in white-ball cricket and their dominace in world cricket is a result of hard work and strategic execution.
"The dedication and commitment shown by the players have set a new benchmark, and we are confident that Indian cricket will keep raising the bar on the global stage," he said.
Rohit, Rahul Shape India's 3rd CT Title Triumph
India sealed an unprecedented third Champions Trophy triumph with an unblemished record as Rohit Sharma combined his inherent freedom with steely resolve to inspire his side to a four-wicket win in a closely-fought final against New Zealand.
Rohit loves to confute his critics and that day was no different. It was not a one-man show for sure since the spinners set it up nicely by restricting the Kiwis to a gettable 251 for seven but he provided a flying start, which was crucial on a slow surface. Later Hardik Pandya (48) and KL Rahul (34 not out) soaked in pressure, ensuring that the team stayed unbeaten.
